My Ashford Journey
I started my journey at Ashford in August 2016. I had never been an online student before. I had never heard of terms like synchronous or asynchronous learning. I had never used online softwares like Jing, Voicethread, Padlet, or Coggle.it (to name a few) or used LMS like Blackboard, Coursesites, Canvas or Engage.
During my time at Ashford I have created an online course, developed an action research plan, created engaging presentations, participated in avid class discussions, written educational essays, developed authentic assessments, learned about learning theories and instructional design principles and how to apply them to activities, and met some really amazing people!
In Summer 2017 I was an Instructional Design Intern at Wiley Education Services. It was my direct experience using Blackboard & Coursesites and my skills with e-Learning that helped me get that internship. My experience at Ashford has been one of the best experiences of my life! I can't wait to take the next step in my journey!
